Seated crossed legged upon a cargo crate, the guildβs aspiring Necromancer is reading his books. Distracting himself from the grief of losing one of his friends. Itβs his way. Let the subconscious tend to such things.
*After glancing over in Valorieβs direction by happenstance, Ori notes her distant, focused gaze. She may be flipping, catching, and finessing her blade, but she still has sadness in her eyes. Closing his book softly he slides off the crate. Approaching her with his hands clasped behind him.*
βCopper for your thoughts?β *He asks, smiling reassuringly. Slightly tilting his head. Some of his black hair cascades over his shoulder.*
Stupid Fucking Goblins....*she says as she catches her dagger. dripping it tight in rage* I'll kill them. I'll kill every last one until the race is eradicated. Start a war in Zero's name. Try and stop me, I dare you
βWellβ¦β *he begins apprehensively.* βMaybe donβt do that. Just slay a few particularly foul ones anytime we encounter them. As tribute to Zeroβs memory.β(edited)
You see..... *says the small goblin now deeply offended* That's your problem right there, you think we're all the same, what's your prissy elfy ass doing down here anyway? Shouldn't you be up in your ivory tower somewhere looking down at everyone?
*paying the group little mind at the moment. knowing some are occupied themselves, and grieving. she did not feel the loss of Zero as strongly as some, like Valorie did. as she wasn't as close to him. but she could feel the others pain as if it were her own. so she's taken to occupying herself with sorting through their loot and items. counting how much they have to go towards their debt while they wait for the captain*
*Ori is trying to hold her back. Gently but firmly holding her shoulder and arm. Casting the goblin a hard yet reasoning glance.* βNot now, please.β *Although it comes out sharper than intended.*
Oh.... sorry to inconvinence you sir... didn't realize you were speaking...... you wanna know why we're so nasty? We're just spitting the filth you leave us in, right back at you.... *looks at Valorie, who just threatened genocide* And you deserve it...(edited)
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
---
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
***Nick.*** When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
*stops her midair, his hand glowing* Oh? You thought I was like the rest of them? Small.. powerless, defenceless... Listen toots... you don't spend years with a group of adventurers, like you lot claim to be, without picking up a thing or two... You're predecesers had more respect, treated me like an equal. But you lot? I bet you didn't even stop to ask why, you had to slaughter that group of goblins down below. I bet..... you didn't even hesitate to wipe them out... well... *maneuvers her over the cresting waves of the ocean beside the docks* let's just clean the filth of this place off you, shall we? *not knowing she's a vampire, and it'll kill her*
I know. but she wouldn't listen and decided to keep running that mouth of hers. it's time she learns the hard way. sometimes it is best to keep your mouth shut.
*Now he looks torn. Should he help Valorie? Or let her learn a hard lesson?* βErmβ¦β *He looks back at his friend, and the goblin. Slowly pointing his staff. Still uncertain.*
*She inhales deeply. and slowly approaches the Goblin* Sir. We do apologize for our actions. but we have a debt to pay off. and if we weren't careful. they could have killed us before we even got the chance to get into those tunnels. but we do not want war... er.. most of us don't anyway... so perhaps we can strike some sort of bargain... what would you like in return for peace? and the promise we will be more merciful towards your kind.
Pity? You step up, and offer me pity? You lot slaughter dozens of my brethren, then once you find out i'm the one holding the cards, offer me peace? a Truce? and a promise you'll be lenient? Were you lenient? Were you merciful? Where was your compassion then?
*looks back at Valorie* If I don't, you don't either.. *addressing Emara* I'm sorry, who invaded who? Who blew up who while sharing a drink? Who slaughtered dozens? And how many did you lose? 1? Way I see it, I got at least a few dozen more of you to go through before we can even talk about being even....
Of course we are, we live of the scraps you so gracefully drop on the ground, we live in squaller, so we take what we can get, if we don't we don't survive. So sorry if i'm not crying over a few copper and overpriced ale....
Because all creatures.. people. deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. it is not their fault they are the way they are. it is ours. our people. our world. that caused it. and if at least a few of us can start to propose and make a change to it. i say we should.
Listen bitch...... leave her, or join her, because i've just about had it with her mouth.....As for your little change the world bit, i'll believe that when I see it, no offence sweetheart, but I'm not buying the one elf can change centuries of opression overnight....
Did i say overnight? No.. But if one person can start it. eventually maybe others will be on board. and it'll be possible. it'll take a long time. i'm sure of it. but if it succeeds and does make the changes needed for us all to live in peace. it is worth the effort and time.
Look I'm sorry if you're so oppressed, but your kind killed my friend. And again, I was not raised in luxury. I grew up in these streets like you(edited)
*her words mean nothing, with the now glowing hand of Ori, radiating with the energy of an eldrich blast, aimed at him, he breaks his concentration, sending valorie crashing into the ocean, and raises a wall of force as a shield*
βIf we have toβ¦β *Ori says with a regretful expression. Though itβs clear he doesnβt want to. Too much blood has already been spilled over this.*
Can you both stop???! We've just lost Valorie. he's killed one of our own. even if one isn't enough for him. we should stop this here... *Rubbing her temple in frustration. trying not to show any true emotion* How about. we all go get a few drinks.... i'll pay. even for yours. *She looked to Vlag.*
19:42
and then we'll be out of your sight.. and no more blood needs to be shed.
That point is valid. and i appologize for all of this. but please. let us try to make some sort of amends. let me get you, and us a drink. calm down a bit..
Why should I? *his voice cracks, pain and anguish in his voice starting to break through* Centuries of oppression, and it still continues today, it was just proven, here now, you lot will never see us as equals, as more than just common gutter slum no better than the rats... well... this rat has teeth.... we all... have teeth... your day is coming, mark my words..... what happened in those mines, and what happened here today, will not go unanswered....
*After holding her ground. and trying to remain resilient. she finally breaks. falling to her knees. finally breathing as she had been holding her breath during those last moments. and just covered her face with her hands. crying softly*
*Ori had departed immediately after Emara suggested getting drinks together. Not wanting to be around the goblin. But he does intend on telling Valories parents, Astarion and Shadowheart, of whatβs happened. He justβ¦ needs a little time. His mind is reeling.*
After Emara composed herself. she returned to being rather stoick and emotionless. not wanting to appear weak. and sat there by the docks with all of their items for hours. staring out at the Ocean. Awaiting the captain's arrival with a heavy heart. when he didn't show. by the time the sun set over the horizon. she finally decided to simply go to an Inn to rest for the night. hiding their belongings and loot under her bed and taking a much needed rest.(edited)
